Contracting Book Chapter 20

Master Playbook: Full-Stack Contracting System

A full-stack contracting system ties together opportunity discovery, decision-making, execution, and learning loops. It is half business process, half personal operating system.

At the top level you have your vision: which niches you will dominate, which work you will refuse, and what "success" means (revenue, margin, lifestyle, strategic options). This prevents random chasing.

Under that you have your engines: the RFQ intake engine, the quoting engine, the fulfillment engine, and the learning engine. Each engine has inputs, outputs, and clear owners—even if the owner is just you for now.

The final layer is your data exhaust: a living database that knows every RFQ you cared about, your quote, your result, your profit, and your pain points. Feed this back into your filters so the system gets smarter every month.
